Is there a minimum amount for opening accounts?

There is no minimum account opening limit for GKBANK current accounts. Limits exist for savings accounts, which can be accessed from the detailed product page of that account.

Is there a maximum account balance?

There is no maximum account balance limit for your GKBANK current account. In special circumstances, we may apply certain balance or transaction limits subject to Compliance assessment, T&C and eligibility.

How do I get a GKBANK current account?

Do I need to be a US resident?

No, you do not need to be resident in the US to get a GKBANK account. We accept International clients from over 100 countries. Sign up with your most up to date information and we will evaluate your application. For some jurisdictions, we may require additional documentation, and in some circumstances we may decline your application.

What are IBANs and SWIFT codes?

IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number, which you can use when making or receiving international payments. Your IBAN does not replace your account number, it’s an additional number with extra information to help overseas banks identify your account for payments. You can access your IBAN, SWIFT Code and Account number from the secure client area.

I received an unrecognized payment, what should I do?

In case of any unrecognized payment please contact your account manager promptly and explain the details of the transaction including the amount, transaction ID (which can be found next to the transaction in the account details section), and the recipient’s available details.

Can I cancel my payment?

We process your transfer requests at specific times of the day. If you want to cancel a payment you have made, please get in touch with your account manager to assist you with the cancellation of the payment. If the payment is already processed, we can call the transaction back from our correspondent bank.

Can I have a joint account?

Currently, we do not offer joint accounts.

Why can’t I login to my account?

If you cannot login to your account, your password might be incorrect. Please follow the steps to reset your password and login again. If your login attempt fails after password recovery, you may contact our support team.

How do I complain?

If you would like to make a complaint, please get in touch by Emailing us at complaints@gkbank.com and we will look into this as soon as possible.

I need a bank statement and I have closed my account.

If you have closed your account and need a bank statement, you can still access to your secure area with your credentials. Having access to secure area does not mean that your accounts are active with GKBANK. If you can’t remember your login, please get in touch with our customer support team by email, help@gkbank.com

What type of savings accounts does GKBANK offer?

GKBANK currently offers 6 different savings account options, starting from a short-term 1 month fixed saver, to a 5-year fixed term savings account. All of our savings accounts mature at the end of the term, paying both the accumulated interest and your capital to your current account at maturity.

Is there a minimum opening balance for a savings account?

Yes, there is a minimum balance required to open a savings account. For USD savings accounts, minimum opening balance is $1,000. For EUR savings accounts, minimum opening balance is €1,000.

Where can I find the interest rates for a savings account?

You can view all savings interest rates online. Visit our GKBANK Savings account pages for the current rates. For comparing interest rate of different savings accounts.

How do I apply for a savings account?

Applying for a savings account is easy. First you will have to sign up to become a GKBANK customer. Then you must open a current account. Savings accounts can only be funded from current accounts. At the maturity of your savings account, we will transfer the funds to your current account.

When do I start earning interest on my savings account?

Interest begins to accrue on the day the account is processed. This will show at the account page clearly as the opening day of the account. Accumulated interest will show on the same page.

When do I receive interest on my savings account?

Interest repayment timings depend on the type of the savings product you choose. This information will clearly be displayed at the specific product page of the savings account. If the repayment type is at maturity, you will receive all the accumulated interest in a single payment at the maturity of the account. This means, if you invested in a Fixed 12-month Saver account, you will receive your interest 1 year after the account is opened.

How do I access my account?

Using Online Banking or Mobile Banking, you can access your GKBANK current account, savings account and loan account information.

How do I find my account number?

Sign in to Online Banking and select your account from the Accounts page, then click on the account you want to view. In the detailed account page, your account number will be displayed above the transactions table.

How do I change my address?

We process change of address requests through custome service representatives. In order to change your address, you should log in to your online banking and initiate a conversation with a representative using the chat service. Upon taking your request, we may require additional documents before updating your new address in our records.

What happens if my address changes?

You will have to report to us in case of an address change. You can request this by logging to your account and chatting with one of our customer represantatives. We may require new documents related to your new address and update the system. Each change of address is subject to our compliance controls, especially if you have relocated to a new country.

How do I close my account?

We are sorry to hear that you want to close your account. If we can improve your banking experience with us, please let us know what we can do. To close your account, please ensure that you have canceled any recurring debits or credits linked to your account and your outstanding transactions have cleared. Then, email us at support@gkbank.com
